More people want to express this sentiment than actually buy this book of verse. Their opinion is hard to repudiate: not least since I don’t like salami. My excuse is that the title came to me as what, at the time, seemed a blinding flash of inspiration.
I mean, a salami sausage is sliced, isn’t it? No-one would attempt to digest it at one go, would they? Another thing, I imagined that salami is manufactured using lots of different ingredients. As such, the poems fit the bill. I must try harder next time.
